The apostle Paul knew something about tribulations. When we are going through a situation of great trial, we often think that there is nothing good that we could get from it. But Paul says in Romans 5:3 that “we also rejoice in our suffering….” God assures us that though it seems at times we cannot see something good behind our suffering, actually something good is going to happen behind it. The suffering itself is not good, but the experience and the hope that spring from it is very good. This sermon takes a closer look at this passage and the theme of “hope.”
